Happy Holidays, you crazy Towson goers!

Greetings

My rough-flash-sketch for the Towson Christmas Greeting is very basic and boring. Snowmen seem to be one of the few nondenominational things about the holidays, besides poinsettias and new years stuff. Don’t worry, my snowman animation will be spruced up shortly.

No lie, I’ve already started listening to Christmas music. I am a sucker for anything christmas. I am happy about this assignment.

In other news, this past weekend I took “Save the Date” pictures for my sisters wedding of her and her fiance. It’s basically a lot of shots of them back-lit by the 6 o’clock sunset in nature; field, woods, creek—and they’re wearing white. I’m working on the layout of the text currently. Kind of difficult. I ought to charge.

Till next time

Project 1

So a little different from my initial idea (about stress). This animation doesn’t need much explanation except it fulfills the requirements to make an animated infographic on statistics in your personal life. Mine kind of has a “Day in the Life” theme. Enjoy

reflection on week dos

For this project I just started out taking pictures of my daily habits. Being the first week(s) of school, stress has been a large part of my life as of late. This project will be an animated “documentation” of small stress-triggering events and my personal reactions to stress: mundane, brainless, borderline obsessive activities/habits from organizing my closet, applying makeup, stacking coins, biting/painting/chipping/repainting nails, tweezing irrelevant hairs, making lists, biting my cheek, putting objects in order by height, jogging while listening to same three songs on repeat, etc… All, by the way, things which facilitate procrastination, leading ultimately to more stress.

And at the end, of course, the final touch to a stressful week—a nice new cold sore.

Entry Numero Uno

I was definitely not expecting such a profound opening class. Interactive Media suddenly turned into a conference about life goals and soul searching, with a little cartoon every now and then.

I was expecting Int. Media to be mainly learning html/website building/dream weaver, but the first project has pleasantly surprised me because it’s an animation. I am taking two other animation courses, so it goes nicely with my mental state these days.

I have been brainstorming what I want my story to be about, and as I’m lying here listening to Kings of Leon, I am thinking along the lines of a Surfing story. There will be a guy surfing, doing flips and tricks on the surfboard, funky music starts playing, he starts dancing, he’s looking all fly on his surf board, then some arrogant Director comes in, taps him on the shoulder, and says “Get back to work, Linus.” It pans out, and you see that the whole thing is a fake movie set. You can see the real actors which are muscular and tan kind of laugh at Linus, as he goes back to hanging lights or what ever lame job he has to do.

So there’s one idea.

…Til next time
